Proactive wellness

Massage isn't only for recovery.

My CCMT training uses a whole-body approach, working with 23 muscles on each side of the dog. Rather than waiting for a problem to be the reason to begin, massage can be part of a proactive wellness routine, supporting muscle health, flexibility and comfortable movement.

It’s a great way to be proactive about your dog’s wellness, while also complementing veterinary care and physical therapy when appropriate.

And sometimes, it really can just be a treat — a chance for your pup to relax and decompress.

A calmer approach

Meeting Your Dog Where They Are

Sessions are intentionally unhurried. The goal is to give your dog time to settle in and become comfortable with touch rather than forcing them into a set routine.

Massage frequency

Finding the Right Routine

Every dog is different. How often massage makes sense can depend on things like age, activity level, lifestyle, how their body responds to massage and what you’re hoping to support. Some dogs may benefit from more frequent sessions, while others may settle into bi-weekly, monthly maintenance or another schedule that works well for them.

As sessions continue, I’ll share what I’m noticing and always want to hear what you’re noticing between visits. We can adjust the frequency along the way, increasing or decreasing sessions as needed.

Pet Sitting
Comfort of home

Pet Sitting

Just like us, some pups love being social and don’t mind time away from home. Others like their own space, their own surroundings and the comforts they know. For those dogs, there really is no place like home. While I’m with your pup, I’ll make sure to keep things fun, familiar and, most of all, comfortable — with their usual feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime and plenty of attention.

Our Shoreline Story
About Shoreline

A little about me.

Animals, music and history have always been three things I’ve wished I could do more than just enjoy in my free time. After 20+ years in sales, my wife working full-time as a teacher and the two of us raising three very busy kids, there wasn’t much time left to think about doing something completely different.

Things have finally settled down a little, giving me the chance to pull the trigger on something I’d wanted to do for a long time — work with dogs.

Hendrix

From the beginning, Hendrix stood out. When we went to pick him up, the rescue had all of the puppies together in one horse stall in the barn. All of them except Henny. Henny was quite a bit bigger than the other puppies, so they had him in his own stall just to be safe.

As our big guy got older (and bigger), we got to know Henny for exactly who he was. He had his own personality, his own quirks and definitely his own way of doing things. He certainly wasn’t perfect, but there was something about him. He became a huge part of our family pretty much immediately. If I end up working with your pup, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll hear a Henny story at some point.

When Hendrix was about six, he tore his ACL. After surgery, he had physical therapy to help with his recovery, and it certainly did. Seeing that firsthand was really my first experience with how much the right kind of hands-on care could do for a dog.

Not long after he recovered, Bleu joined the family. And yes, we gave Bleu her slightly different spelling on purpose. We thought the big guy might like having a furry sibling. I’m pretty sure Henny would have been perfectly happy remaining an only dog. Over time, they figured each other out and developed a bond that was very much their own.

How Shoreline Started

On a family trip, I was out walking Henny and saw a sign that said, “Ask about dog massage inside.” I had never heard of it and was definitely a little skeptical, but curious enough to go in and ask. After talking with the owner and learning a little more about it, I left thinking there might actually be something to this.

When we got home, I started looking into it. The more I learned, the more interested I became. Eventually, that led me to professional training and becoming a Certified Canine Massage Therapist (CCMT).

Bleu and Lola

Unfortunately, Henny never got to experience everything I learned through my massage training. But it was because of him that I discovered canine massage in the first place. So while Henny never really got to benefit from it himself, I now get to share what I learned with Bleu, her little sister Lola, and dogs all along the shoreline.

And Shoreline’s logo isn’t random. That’s Henny in there. He’s a big part of how all of this came together, so having him in the logo only seemed right.
